Read information about the authorDanielle Findlay is a writer, public speaker and non-profit professional from LaSalle, Ontario where she lives with her husband and two young children.
As a child, Danielle had a real passion for reading and found herself lost in her beloved stories. Some of her favourite books were E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web and The Trumpet of the Swan, and she loved and read every book in the ValueTales series countless times. She was happy to put pencil to paper whenever she had the opportunity and do some writing of her own. Some of her teachers began to take notice and encouraged her to explore her craft further.
One of the best gifts Danielle ever received was Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends when she was seven, a book that piqued another creative interest. From then on, the only time a teacher’s eyebrow was ever raised at Danielle in a less than positive way was when she was passing ‘notes’ of hilarious poetry in a class she felt was otherwise mundane.
As an adult, Danielle was drawn back to her love for writing after the birth of her son, James. In her community, she has contributed to several local publications including Windsor Parent Magazine, In Business and The Windsor Star. Her work has appeared across Canada and includes articles in The Montreal Gazette and Vancouver Sun.
Danielle has written a number of stories and developed several characters for her own children that they have embraced. When Domnizelle’s Publishing took notice of one of her characters, Pepper, the story was brought to life. Pepper is a book that touches on organic growing, nutrition and helping others. It’s a tale that’s near and dear to Danielle’s heart. Over the past several years Danielle has also advocated for food security issues in her community as a Coordinator of Meals on Wheels and School Nutrition Programs.
